John Fitzgerald ObituaryVisit the Chapman Funerals & Cremations - Bridgewater website to view the full obituary.John M. Fitzgerald, Jr., of East Bridgewater, passed away suddenly on March 7, 2026. He was 58. John, affectionately known as Fitzy, was a lifelong resident of East Bridgewater and EB High School Graduate class of 1985. He was a quintessential handyman and true jack of all trades, often found tinkering, gardening, or tending to his yard. In his earlier years, he enjoyed playing horseshoes and fishing, and throughout his life remained an avid New England sports fan. Though he preferred a quiet life, he was deeply grateful for his close friends and cherished simple pleasures, especially a game of horseshoes or sharing a beer with those he loved. He will be deeply missed.Cherished son of Kathleen (Pender) Fitzgerald of West Roxbury and the late John M. Fitzgerald, Sr. Beloved brother of Karen Fitzgerald and her partner Michael LaRocca of Wakefield and Lauren Carchedi and her husband James of East Bridgewater. Loving uncle of Nicole Smith and her husband Billy of Roslindale, Tyler Palmerino of Wakefield, Gianna Palmerino of Wakefield, Jaclyn Carchedi and her partner Cullen Gaudette of Quincy, and James Carchedi of East Bridgewater. Great-uncle of Patrick and Jackson Gaudette. A special thanks to lifelong friends, Larry, Wayne, Chris, Kris, and others, who stood by all these years.Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday, March 16th from 4-7 PM at Chapman Funerals and Cremations, 98 Bedford Street in Bridgewater.
