John L. Mitrano

John L. "Jack" Mitrano of Hamlin passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at the age of 81. A lifelong resident of the Rochester area, he was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Josephine Mitrano. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Jackie Viccaro Mitrano; their children, John M. (Alaina) Mitrano, Jill Mitrano (David Tucker), and Joy (Jason) Campbell; grandchildren Michael Mitrano, Anthony Mitrano, Isabella Campbell, and Juliet Tucker; brother Charlie (Susan) Mitrano; sister Mary Ellen Dangler; and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Jack retired from General Motors after 36 years of service. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family, always placing them first. He cherished Friday night dinners at his parents’ house with Jackie and the children, Sunday coffee with Jackie’s family, summer cookouts filled with bocce ball games among the Mitranos, and attending every sports event, club activity, and social gathering in which his children participated. Cars were a lifelong passion, and he took great pride in keeping his vehicles impeccably clean.

He will be remembered as a devoted son, husband, father, brother, and friend whose quiet dedication and love for his family touched everyone who knew him.
