John "Jack" Krueger

Passed March 12, 2026

Liberty Center, OH

John “Jack” Martin Krueger, 89, of Liberty Center, Ohio, passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, March 12, 2026. Born on December 24, 1936, in Napoleon, Ohio, to the late Paul and Laura (Mabus) Krueger, Jack graduated from Liberty Center High School, where he played basketball and earned Senior Year Team MVP and NWOAL Honorable Mention honors.

A devoted supporter of Liberty Center Athletics for decades, Jack served as scorekeeper for the JV and varsity basketball teams, worked on the chain gang for football, and announced games for 46 years. He mowed the cross-country trail at Widewater and received the NW Ohio Football Coaches Association Pete Moore Merit Award in 2020. His lifelong commitment to the community, schools, churches, and sports earned him a nomination for the Jefferson Award. In later years, he and his wife Marilyn fulfilled a shared dream by traveling to all 50 states and all seven continents. Jack was also a proud and dedicated blood donor for the Red Cross, contributing nearly 200 units while serving on the county board.

Above all, Jack was a loving husband, father, and friend whose quiet generosity touched everyone around him. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Marilyn Krueger; children, Joe (Cindy) Krueger and Phil (Margy) Krueger; grandson, Matthew (Ryan Foust) Krueger; siblings, Bill Krueger and Carol Florey; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Krueger.
