John Joseph Richardson

John Joseph Richardson, 67, of Litchfield, passed away unexpectedly at his home on March 10, 2026. Born in Torrington, Connecticut, on April 17, 1958, he was the son of the late Robert J. and Elizabeth (Barry) Richardson.

In his younger years, John enjoyed hunting, riding his Harley Davidson, and competing in antique tractor pulls with his beloved Farmall. He was an active member of the Litchfield Volunteer Fire Department during the 1980s, an NHRA enthusiast and former racer, and a devoted fan and supporter of UConn men’s and women’s basketball. Mechanically gifted, he took great pleasure in tinkering with cars, trucks, and tractors. For many years, he owned and operated his own lawn service business before retiring.

He is survived by his sisters, Lynn Richardson and Kathy Foster and her husband, Stuart; his niece, Samantha Foster LaPierre, her husband, Scott, and their children, Riley, Jaxson, and Lincoln; his nephew, Harkin Foster and his partner, Erica Norton; and his niece, Mackenzie Foster. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his great-nephew, Declyn, Samantha’s son.
