John Harrington ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home LLC - Ansonia on Mar. 9, 2026.John Joseph Harrington, IV, age 61, beloved husband of Denise Ann Russell Harrington of Bethlehem, died peacefully on March 7, 2026 at Waterbury Hospital with his family by his side. Born in Bridgeport on April 1, 1964, he was the son of Maureen Murray Armour and her husband David of Milford and the late John Joseph Harrington, III. Mr. Harrington was raised in Stratford and was a 1982 graduate of Stratford High School. He worked as a commercial truck driver for Asphalt Repairs Solutions Co. for over 2 years, until the time of his illness. He was previously employed with the CT Sealcoat Co. and worked for years in the construction industry, but his passion was owning and operating the Hilly Acres Farm and Animal Sanctuary of Bethlehem, CT. Together with his wife and family, they lovingly cared for their horses and many adopted animals over the years, providing them with a safe and nurturing environment. John was an HO model railroad enthusiast who enjoyed tinkering on his model railway diorama and attending local train shows with his grandsons. He will be long remembered for his special love for his family. In addition to his wife of 32 years, John is survived by his devoted children, Stephen J. Harrington of CA, Katelyn M. Ruelle of Terryville and John J. Harrington, V of Terryville; sisters, Diane Harrington of Thomaston, Laura Harrington of Waterbury and a brother, James Harrington of Fairfield; cherished grandsons, Raylan and Noah Ruelle of Terryville; as well as several nieces and nephews. Mr. Harrington is also survived by Gabriele "Gaby" Lukowski and Michele Lukowski of Seymour. Family and friends may call on Saturday, March 14, 2026 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM.
