John J. Bisnett Sr.

John J. Bisnett Sr. passed away on March 7, 2026, in Liverpool, New York, after a courageous battle with dementia. Born in Syracuse, New York, on March 4, 1948, he lived a life marked by deep passion and quiet strength.

John proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1968. In the years that followed, he remained a steadfast source of support for his family and friends, creating countless cherished memories with those he loved.

An avid sports enthusiast, John was a dedicated fan of the Buffalo Bills, Syracuse University athletics, the Los Angeles Dodgers, and the Boston Red Sox. He also found great joy in fishing and music.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys Bisnett; his children, Barbara Bisnett, John (Vickie) Bisnett Jr., Cathy Bisnett, Janet Bisnett, Roseann Bisnett, and Joseph Bisnett; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, and sisters-in-law. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lila Makuch.
