John Henry Pennington, Age 76, passed from this life on March 16 , 2026 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born November 27, 1949, to the late Bill Pennington and Lissie Brooks Pennington, He was preceded in death by one son, John Kevin Pennington, Six brothers, Alfred, Kenny, Billy, Ronald, Donald, and Thomas, Three sisters, Juanita Brunty, Lois Miller, and Joann Mullins. John is survived by his wife, Karen Rose-Pennington, One Son, John Brian (Angie) Pennington, One Daughter, Shelia (Shannon) Clark, Three Grandchildren, Cheyenne (Tyler) Pennington, Logan McCown, and Alyssa McCown, Two Great-Grandchildren, Aubrey McCown, Miley McCown, and One Brother, Harvey Pennington, Two Sisters, Eva Rose, Roxanna (David) Tilley, and a host of loving family and friends.
John served his country during the Vietnam War, after he returned home, he married his wife of 53 years, Karen. He provided for his family by working in the Coal Mines until his mining accident in 1988. John loved his family and cherished each day he was able to spend with them. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 18, 2026, 6pm at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home, with service each night beginning at 7pm, Bro. Joey Sussan officiating with Bro. Richard Gibson and Bro Terry Gibson. Funeral will be Friday, March 20, 2026, 1pm, at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home. Burial will Follow at the Pennington Family Cemetery at Poor Bottom.
