John H. Creighton III
Lancaster, MA
John H. Creighton III, known to all as Jack, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Lancaster, Massachusetts, on February 21, 2026, at the age of 90. Born in Abington, Pennsylvania, Jack moved to South Lancaster in 1955 to attend Atlantic Union College and made the community his home for the rest of his life. Kindhearted, friendly, and always quick with a cheerful smile, he was well known and deeply respected throughout Lancaster.
Together with his first wife, Charlotte Elizabeth Creighton, the mother of his children, Jack owned and operated Creighton Floor Covering, Contempo Interiors, and the College Town Inn, a country bed and breakfast, until her passing on February 4, 2019. In 2022, he married Kay Lee Bloom of Lancaster, and the couple shared four cherished years together. A longtime member of the College Seventh-day Adventist Church, Jack served as a deacon for many years. His faith provided him strength after the unexpected loss of his youngest son, David K. Creighton, in a work-related accident on December 28, 2017.
Jack remained active in his community through the Lions Club and as a longtime Rotarian, including a term as president. He is survived by his wife, Kay Bloom; sons John (Rick) H. Creighton IV and his wife Lindy of Australia, Daniel Creighton and his wife Claribel of South Lancaster, Massachusetts, and Dan-Dee Leagjeld and her husband Donna of Minnesota; his widowed daughter-in-law, Brenda Creighton of New Hampshire; and stepchildren Elizabeth Curtis, Kathleen Christoph and her husband Peter, and Tom Bloom and his wife Rondi. He also leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of friends who will remember him with great affection.
