December 12, 1945— March 11, 2026
Vonore, TN
John Gabriel Rosenberg, 80, of Vonore, Tennessee, passed away on March 11, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Detroit, Michigan, on December 12, 1945, to Sidney and Paula Rosenberg, John graduated from Mumford High School and attended Eastern Michigan University before serving as a Lieutenant in the United States Army. He completed a tour of duty in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970 and was awarded the Bronze Star for his heroic service in combat.
Following his military service, John dedicated 33 years to teaching business management at Rochester Adams High School in Michigan. He ran the school store and led a highly successful DECA program, forging deep connections with his students that endured for decades. He retired in 2004 and moved to Vonore, where he embraced retirement with a passion for golf, tennis, and pickleball, but found his greatest joy in the company of his grandchildren.
John was known for his steadfast love and devotion to his family, his students, and his country, as well as his quiet willingness to help and serve others. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Paula Rosenberg, and his son-in-law, Blaine Adams. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Heide Rosenberg; his sister, Nan Hunter (Bruce); his children, Julie Cape (Shane), Clint Rosenberg (Kim), Grant Rosenberg (Allison), Bonnie Boss, and Blythe Hall Adams; and eleven grandchildren: Sidney and Samantha Cape; Casey and Riley Rosenberg; Jack, George, and June Rosenberg; Luke, Lillian, and Logan Boss; and Evelyn Adams.
