He was preceded in death by his parents, John Edwin Porter, Sr. and Sara W. Porter, and by his beloved wife, Janet Porter. John is survived by his daughters, Kristin Porter of Atlanta, Georgia, and Stephanie Foreman (Wayne) of Nashville, Tennessee; his grandchildren, Katherine Foreman, Johnathon Foreman (Kat), and Allison Foreman, who brought him great joy and pride; his brother, Robert Porter (Stasia) of South Carolina; and his sister, Betsy Hottinger of Wisconsin.
