He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electronics and went on to own and operate Hornsby Electronics and Tall Tales Bait and Tackle. His entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to quality made his businesses enduring fixtures in the Tallassee area.

Edgar found deep fulfillment in the outdoors, enjoying trapping, fishing, and farming, pursuits that kept him closely connected to his Alabama roots. He also embraced the excitement of casino life with characteristic enthusiasm.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Robin Lamberth; his parents, Edgar Earl and Carleene Moore Lamberth; his daughter, Penny Segrest; his brother, Floyd Lamberth; and his grandson, Keith Segrest. He is survived by his daughter Jana Higgs and her husband Andrew; his son John Lamberth and his wife Carla; grandchildren Robert Segrest and his wife Samantha, John Paul Segrest, Ryan Higgs and his wife Adriana, Josh Higgs, Avery Higgs, Ella Higgs, Robin Bush and her husband Shane, Ethan Lamberth, and William Lamberth; and great-grandchildren Mary Segrest, Genevieve Higgs, and Journey Segrest. His family was the center of his world, and they carry forward his legacy of kindness, strength, and integrity.
