John E. Cunningham

John E. Cunningham, 69, of Newport, Pennsylvania, passed away on March 13, 2026, at his home.

For more than 45 years, John and his family owned and operated River Front Campground, boat rental, and bait shop in Duncannon, Pennsylvania. He took great pride in welcoming generations of visitors to the river and sharing his knowledge of the outdoors.

John is survived by his wife of 32 years, Corinne, and his sisters, Patricia Miller (Vance), Martha Stoak (Albert), and Teresa Brown, along with his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Cunningham, and his mother, Elinor Cunningham.

A 20-year member of the Sons of the American Legion at Duncannon American Legion Post 340, John served as Finance Officer in honor of his father, an Army veteran and multiple Purple Heart recipient. He was also a member of the Duncannon VFW and the Hunters Valley Sportsmen Association.
