John David Cornett

John David Cornett, 90, of Edmonton, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. Born on December 14, 1935, in Marion, Virginia, he was the son of the late John Cornett and Nellie South Cornett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Harold Cornett.

Throughout his life, John maintained a deep connection to tractors and Thoroughbred horse racing. These passions brought him great joy and became central to many of his most cherished memories, reflecting his appreciation for tradition and honest hard work.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Lynn Cornett of Edmonton; his four children, Westley (Elise) Cornett of Oklahoma, David Cornett of Indiana, John Jason Cornett of Florida, and Kathy Martin of Indiana; and his grandchildren, Veruca Cornett Pullen, Amanda Cornett Canton, and Jeremy Cornett. In accordance with John’s wishes, the family has chosen cremation.
