John D. Rydzik, Ed.D. of Hamburg entered into rest in his home on March 8, 2026. Beloved husband of the late Roberta Rydzik, and Sylvia Rydzik; devoted father of Bradley Rydzik; loving son of the late John and Joan (nee Chomiczewski) Rydzik; and he is survived by sister in law Sheilla Coleman, relatives, and friends.

Dr. Rydzik retired after 26 years in education, where he served as Vice President/CEO for 10 years of Erie Community College. He was also a proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corp serving in the Korean War. Upon retirement in 1991 he devoted his time and life to helping others.

He served as Rotary International District 7090 Governor 1993-1994, Five states Zone 28 Coordinator PolioPlus for 10 years, Hamburg Sunrise Rotary Club Charter President 1991. He implemented and Chaired for many years Gift of Life, inc in District 7090 which saved the lives of children from around the world.

He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1419, American Legion Post 527, DAV Post 135, Amvets Post 897, and the Marine Corps League. Was also active in 1941 Historical Aircraft Group Museum, Emeritus member of Phi Delta Kappa International, Buffalo Yacht Club, Hamburg Historical Society, and Trinity Episcopal Church. There will be no visitation or private service any donations can be made to Rotary International or the Marine Corps League.
