Royal Oak, MI
John Vredenburg passed away in March 2026, leaving behind a family who will always remember his kindness, warmth, and unwavering devotion.
He was a loving husband to Tawny N. Vredenburg (Burkett) and the proud father of three children: Hannah N. Hardy (Benjamin), John D. Vredenburg III (Jacqueline), and Joseph F. Vredenburg. His children were the center of his world, and he took great pride in watching them grow and build their own lives. He was a deeply cherished Papa to his grandchildren, William, Daniel, and Olivia Hardy. The time he spent with them brought him tremendous joy.
John was the beloved son of John Dale Vredenburg Sr. and Mary Jane Vredenburg, and a loving brother to his sisters, Holly H. Breach and Marta Smith. He also shared a special bond with the animals he considered part of the family—his beloved dogs L.J. and Ghetto, as well as his grand-pups Copper and Penny, Louie and Levi, and his cherished grand-cat Moonstone.
A dedicated worker throughout his life, John began his career as an electrician with IBEW Local 58. He later spent 25 years at Ford Motor Company as an electrician and proud member of United Auto Workers Local 600. Known for his strong work ethic and generous spirit, he became a trusted mentor to many. In his free time, he found peace in nature, enjoying gardening, fishing, and time near the water. A true music lover, he filled his home with song and cherished meaningful conversations with family and friends.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love, comfort, and strength he brought to everyone who knew him.
