John D. Pisle

John D. Pisle, 85, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Chambersburg Skilled Nursing.

Born on June 11, 1940, in Antrim Township, he was the son of the late Garnet and Thelma (Zeger) Pisle. A 1959 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim High School, John served in the U.S. Army and the Army Reserves. He worked for many years as a fuel oil delivery driver for Franklin Feed & Supply Company, retiring in 2002.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Clara M. (Hamman) Pisle of Chambersburg; his daughters, Karen Smith and her husband James of Biglerville, Pennsylvania, and Connie Grim and her husband David of Louisiana; granddaughters Lisa Rowe and her husband Skylar of Palm Bay, Florida, and Keisha Hamman-Suggs and her husband Donovan of Chambersburg; great-grandson Landon Rowe of Palm Bay, Florida; his brother Donald L. Pisle of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews. A dear family friend, George Kurtz of Chambersburg, also survives him.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother Harold Pisle and his stepdaughter Faith Hamman.
