Yardley, PA
John D. Filipowicz of Yardley, Pennsylvania, passed away at his home on March 7, 2026, after a courageous battle with pancreatic and lung cancers. He was surrounded by his wife of more than 38 years, Bonnie, his son Ryan, and other loving relatives. John cherished his family above all else. He was deeply grateful for Bonnie’s devoted care for him, their son, and others throughout their life together, and he often described her as the best wife, mother, and partner. He took great pride in Ryan, who pursued every opportunity while remaining true to his principles, and he admired him as a respectful and loving son.
John found joy in working out, playing pickleball with friends, traveling with his family, and supporting Bonnie and Ryan in all their endeavors. He took genuine pleasure in being a positive influence in the lives of others and offering the support that helped them succeed. He remained closely connected with many people, quietly touching countless lives through his guidance and encouragement. His influence extended to careers, marriages, families, and faith journeys, and his witty sense of humor brought laughter to those around him every day. To all who knew him, John stood as a strong and good man, a devoted husband and father, a natural leader, and a loyal friend.
A 1976 graduate of Kent School in Kent, Connecticut, John earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government from St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York, and a Juris Doctorate from Western Michigan Law School. He was a member of the New York and Pennsylvania Bar Associations. Throughout his distinguished career, he held executive leadership roles with several publicly held communications and data center companies, serving as President, Executive Vice President, General Counsel for five public companies, Chief Administrative Officer, and most recently as Vice President of Risk and Compliance for Mill Creek Residential Trust, LLC. He remained deeply appreciative of the talented colleagues who surrounded him over the years.
John was a longtime member of the Yardley Knights of Columbus #11013 and a member and usher at St. Ignatius of Antioch Church. He previously served as Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus in Exeter, Pennsylvania, where his council earned the Star Council Award. He is survived by his sisters, Jane Kropkowski and her husband Greg, Ann Blotner and her husband Richard, and their children, as well as by members of Bonnie’s family, including Dawn Bell, Kathy and Robert Marquez, Patty Marquez, Ronnie and Paulette Johnson, Carl Johnson, and their children and grandchildren.
