John D. Counts

John Counts, born in Pasadena, California, passed away after a life marked by service and devotion to family. Following his military years in the Far East, he made his permanent home in Southern California, where he built a rich and meaningful life.

He retired from the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Coast Guard, and Southern California Edison, and later served on the security team at Cottonwood Church. John was preceded in death by his parents, George and Alpha Counts, and his brother, Ron Counts.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Nancy (Brown) Counts; his children, John Counts Jr. and his wife Lohriena, Derrick Brown, and DeAnna (Brown) Van De Brake and her husband Mark; his grandchildren, Preston, Atticus, Chanan, and Elisabeth; his nephew, Ray Counts; his niece, Autumn LaFlam; and many beloved friends.
