John Olin Carlock, 81, of Bradenton, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026. Born on August 4, 1944, in Clinton Township, Pennsylvania, John lived a life defined by service, dedication, and quiet strength. A proud U.S. Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War, he went on to spend more than four decades in education as a teacher and administrator, touching the lives of countless students through his guidance and encouragement.
John was also a respected coach at Manatee High School, where he led baseball, softball, and football teams and mentored generations of student-athletes. His commitment to his community and to the young people he taught and coached left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Judith Fryzel Carlock; his children, Christie Carlock Holst, Tim Carlock, and Todd Wright (wife, Nicole Boyce Wright); and 14 cherished grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Carlock.
