John B. Fouts

June 23, 1937 March 11, 2026

Warsaw, IN

John B. Fouts of Warsaw, Indiana, formerly of Syracuse, passed away on March 11, 2026, at the age of 88. A good and hard-working man, John dearly loved his family and will be lovingly remembered as a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many.

Born on June 23, 1937, in Elwood, Indiana, to Martha Ann (Gray) Fouts and Byron E. Fouts, John graduated from Wendell L. Wilkie High School in Elwood in 1955. Later that same year, at the age of 18, he married his high school sweetheart, Sharon Jacqueline Glotzbach, on August 13, 1955. Together they shared 62 wonderful years until her passing on April 21, 2018.

John worked for many years as maintenance supervisor at State Plating in Elwood, a town he was proud to call home while raising his family. After moving to Syracuse in 2002, he embraced life in Kosciusko County. He found his greatest peace and joy outdoors, whether fishing in the quiet of the lakes or hunting in the fresh air.

He is survived by his daughters, JoAnne (Kevin) Williams of Warsaw, Indiana, and Judy (Bob) Fischer of Hebron, Indiana; his son, Jay (Shannon Tribley) Fouts of Rochester, Indiana; thirteen grandchildren, thirty-four great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. He also leaves his brother, Gary (Ginny) Fouts of Attica, Indiana; sisters, Janice (George) Dauenhaer of Elwood, Indiana, and Melodie (Wynn) Miller of Alabama; brothers-in-law, Jack (RaeAnn Goens) Glotzbach of Elwood, Indiana, and Murv Groover of Portland, Indiana; sister-in-law, Verna Wilt of Muncie, Indiana; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sharon, his son John Kevin Fouts, his grandson John Norris, and his daughter-in-law Cheryl Fouts.
