John Anthony Wiese

John Anthony Wiese, born August 10, 1972, and passed away March 8, 2025, was a man of striking contrasts and deep devotion. To those who knew him well, he was the big, boisterous presence whose laugh carried across any room. He was loud, brazen, and unwavering in his opinions, yet he loved with his whole heart. He accepted people fully for who they were, embracing their strengths, flaws, and everything in between, whether he understood them or not.

In 2003, John made a profound change in his life so he could be the eternal companion of Lydia Esther Tomlin Wiese. He was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 6, 2003, and proposed to Lydia that same night. They were married a few months later in September, surrounded by family and friends, and were sealed for time and all eternity in the Washington D.C. Temple in the fall of 2004. Their marriage in mortality lasted 22 years.

John is now reunited with his son, John Anthony Wiese, Jr., in the eternities. He is survived by his daughter, Jacquelyn Lydia Wiese. He gave greatly of himself for those he loved and will be remembered as a precious son, a faithful husband, a joyful father, and a beloved brother.
