John Anthony Scimeca

John Anthony Scimeca was born on January 16, 1933, and passed away on March 14, 2026. He was the loving husband of the late Marie (Couty) Scimeca for 56 years. He is survived by his children Theresa and John, and was preceded in death by his son Anthony. John was a cherished Papa to Jennifer (Renato) Casali, Jenna (Frank) Floss, Josh, Sara, Emma, Terriann (Luke) Radar, Cody (Valerie) Browning, Anna, and John, and a proud Great Grandfather to Sophie, Ben, Riven, and Maven.

Born and raised in Chicago, John lived a life defined by service and hard work. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War, carrying that same sense of duty and dedication throughout his life. After his military service, he became the person family, friends, and neighbors knew they could always call when something needed fixing. A talented and tireless handyman, John enjoyed remodeling houses, tackling repair projects, and helping anyone who needed a hand. If something was broken, he believed it could be fixed—and he was usually the one to do it.

John loved his sweets and cherished his soulmate, Marie, above all. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
