John Alfred Craig

John Craig, 97, of Lebanon, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026.

Born on October 7, 1928, in Buffalo, New York, John lived a long and meaningful life defined by hard work, generosity, friendship, and deep love for his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Suzanne Schneider and Norman Craigie, and his sister, Barbara Fender.

John is survived by his beloved wife, Juanita Craig; his children, Michael Craig, Jennifer Fryer, and Jason Fryer; his grandchildren, Jordan Crafton and Emily Craig, who were a great source of pride and joy in his life; and several beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

John was an electrician by trade and a man who truly knew the value of hard work. Over the years, he worked for himself and for Chrysler. He also worked for Carlson Diamond and Wright, a machining company, where he served as shop foreman. Whatever the job, John brought skill, dedication, and pride to everything he did.

He had many interests that brought him joy throughout his life, including golf, bowling, fishing, gardening, playing cards, and doing puzzles. More than anything, though, John loved spending time with his family and friends. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome, valued, and special. To John, everyone was a friend.

He was especially gifted with his hands and could fix or improve just about anything, from home projects to automobiles. He was always willing to lend a hand, share his knowledge, or brighten someone’s day with a thoughtful gesture. Whether he was helping someone with a repair or bringing a small gift to someone he saw regularly, John showed his love through kindness, generosity, and everyday acts of care.

John will be remembered for his warm heart, strong work ethic, talent and resourcefulness, and the way he made every relationship meaningful. His life was a beautiful reflection of the song What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong, reminding others to appreciate life’s simple joys, cherish one another, and live with gratitude.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
