John Alexander Sweigert

John Alexander Sweigert, 89, of Palm Bay, Florida, formerly of Oakland City, passed away peacefully at his home on January 13, 2026. Born on March 11, 1936, in Princeton, New Jersey, to Joseph and Jeanne Sweigert, he grew up in Hopewell, New Jersey, before making his home in Oakland City and later moving to Florida. A veteran of the United States Army, John lived a life defined by quiet strength and deep devotion to his family.

He was a loving husband, father, and PopPop whose greatest joy came from the generations that surrounded him. John is survived by his wife, Shirley Sweigert; his children, John Joseph Sweigert (Robin), Mary Henthorne (Mike), Jessie Howard, Virginia Leon, Melissa Rajcon (Dave), Darla Balderrama, and Carla Worrell (Donald); 19 grandchildren; and 42 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Christopher Sweigert.

His memory will be cherished by the large and loving family he leaves behind.
