Johanna Elizabeth Noetzel Lyons

Johanna Elizabeth Noetzel Lyons, 95, of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away on March 8, 2026, while under the care of Lower Cape Fear Life Care Hospice in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Born on March 23, 1930, in Danzig, Germany, Johanna was the daughter of the late August Noetzel and Elisabeth Reczeski Noetzel. A devoted homemaker, she found her greatest joy in caring for her family. Her world revolved around her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who brought her endless happiness. She also cherished her regular games of bingo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 64 years, SFC (Ret) Harry C. Lyons, Jr.; her daughter-in-law, Elaine Diane Lyons; and her granddaughter, Lacey E. Peardon.

She is survived by her five children, Harry C. Lyons (Judy), Steven R. Lyons, Ronnie J. Lyons (Kathy), Richard W. Lyons, and Shirley J. Nelson (Tracy); twelve grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends.
