He spent his life dedicated to his family, his faith, and his passions, leaving behind a legacy of love and commitment.Joe proudly served his country in the National Guard, embodying the spirit of service that marked his character. Joe began his distinguished career as a computer programmer. Through hard work and dedication, he advanced into various computer-related roles within several prominent local companies, including Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, WesBanco, and Ormet. His expertise and passion for technology culminated in a successful career at Affiliated Computer Services (ACS), where he eventually retired.Beyond his professional life, Joe possessed a profound appreciation for nature and an unwavering love of animals, particularly cats. He relished the tranquility of yard work and gardening, taking great pleasure in the vibrancy of the flowers he cultivated and the avian visitors-particularly Blue Birds-that frequented his birdhouses.A devout Catholic, Joe was an active member of Our Lady of Peace Parish, where he practiced his faith with dedication. He was also a proud member of the Knights of Columbus and the Italian American Club, embracing his heritage and community with enthusiasm.An avid sports fan, Joe passionately supported the Alabama Crimson Tide football team, traveling to numerous games and cheering them on with fervor. His competitive spirit was also evident in his enjoyment of playing Euchre and participating in the former Elby's Wheeling Distance Race as a dedicated runner.Joe's love for adventure took him to amusement parks and on beach vacations, where he created cherished memories with his family. Above all, he found great joy in spending time with his grandchildren, attending their sporting events and celebrating their achievements.Joe is preceded in death by his beloved parents and his treasured cat, Bam. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Patricia (Highfield) Trubiano; cherished daughters Cheryl (Jerry Jr.) Ames and Jocelyn (Kent) Haller; his brother, Jerry Trubiano; and his adoring grandchildren: Jackson Haller, Olen Ames, Alexander Haller, and Karsyn Haller.Joe's family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Liza's Place, Valley Hospice, IC Care, and his special caregivers, Shelly and BJ, for the compassionate care and unwavering support they provided over the past several years.Family and friends will be received for visitation on Monday, March 9, 2026, from 5-8 PM at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger St., Wheeling. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 10 at 10 AM at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, followed by Full Military Honors by the Ohio Valley Memorial Squad.Memories and condolences may be shared with Joe's family at www.altmeyerfuneralhomes.com.
