Joe Lord ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Dennard First National Funeral Home - Winnsboro on Mar. 17, 2026.Funeral services for Mr. Joe Neal Lord, 92, of Baskin, LA, will be held 2 PM Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Prentiss Gandy and Rev. Ron Charrier officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Dennard First National Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 18, 2026, 5 PM at the church.Joe Neal was born November 10, 1933, in Crowville, LA, to the union of the late Augustus "Gus" Theodore Lord and the late Betty Olline Cathey Lord; and peacefully passed away on March 15, 2026, at his home with his family at his side.Mr. Joe Neal was a longtime member of Friendship Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Korean Conflict; he was honored that he was able to be of service to his country. Mr. Joe Neal was a member and served as past post commander for the Winnsboro VFW, Sergeant of Arms for American Legion Post 3755. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge 246 in Winnsboro. In his free time Mr. Joe Neal was an avid hunter and fisherman; a huge LSU Tiger fan. When he was able, he would attend some of their games. His greatest joy was his children and grandchildren. Mr. Joe Neal left not only years of wisdom and love, but he left a legacy. He is preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 55 years Elaine Davis Lord; his son, Ricci Neal Lord; one granddaughter, Melany Hensley; brothers: Henry Lord, Theodore "Doe" Lord, and Allen E. Lord; two sisters: Lade Taylor Emily Lord.Those left to carry on his legacy include his four children: Debbie Hensley and her husband Lynn of Oklahoma, David Lord and his wife Pam of Baskin, Sherrie McCombs and her husband Monty of Illinois, Lisa Rockett and her husband Landon of Rayville; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.Pallbearers will be Jason Lord, Eric Watson, Justin Lord, Zachary Rockett, Clayton Rockett, and Lynn Hensley.Honorary pallbearers will be Mason Marcus, Rayden Knox, Garrett Knox, Monty McCombs, Landon Rockett, Kit Bryan, and Jeremy Williamson.Online condolences may be made at www.dennardfirstnational.com.To send a flower arrangement in memory of Joe Neal Lord, please click here to visit our sympathy store.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
