Joe H. McKendree

Joe H. McKendree, 78, of Murray, passed away on March 14, 2026, at Baptist Health in Paducah. Born on November 21, 1947, in Paducah, Kentucky, to the late Hayes and Lucille McKendree, Joe cherished the outdoors and found great joy in hunting, fishing, and sharing quiet moments with family and friends. For many years he served faithfully as song leader at Blood River Baptist Church, where his voice and steady presence blessed the congregation.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Bob and Bud McKendree, and three sisters, Mary Cope, Martha Almond, and Charlotte Dever.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Kathy Dowdy McKendree of Murray; daughters Tanya Munday (Jason) of Nashville and Kassia Tucker (Brian) of Murray; stepson Randall Argo (Jenn) of Murray; stepdaughter Frosty Argo-Skimehorn (Ryan) of Madisonville; brother Arvil McKendree (Ruth) of Paducah; sisters Donna Kay Scheffer (Mike) of Arkansas and Anna Lou McKendree of Paducah; and six grandchildren, Brayden, Maddie, Karsyn, Chase, Bryson, and Justin. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
