Joe Everett Hinson Sr.

Joe Everett Hinson, Sr., 83, of Silsbee, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. Born on April 5, 1942, in Buna, he was the son of Ada Mae Byerly Hinson and Cazzie Royal Hinson.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Retha Hinson; sons Joe Everett Hinson, Jr. and his wife Nicky, and Joel Eric Hinson and his wife Diann, all of Buna; and honorary daughter Holly Gethright and her husband Chris of Gist. His grandchildren include Elizabeth Hinson of Buna; Nikki Baldwin and her husband Jonathan of Greenville, Mississippi; Jacob Hinson and his wife Gayle of Vidor; Samantha Zernial and her husband Dalton of Vidor; Ryan Hinson of Buna; Brock Hinson of Buna; Destiny Zamarripa of Buna; Charles Ebarb and his wife Rachelle of Vidor; Kimberly Castillo and her husband Alex of Buna; Raylee Trahan of Buna; Mallori Anderson; Laci Gethright and her friend Ethan; and Natali Gethright. He also leaves behind eighteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers R.Z. Hinson, Robert Hinson, Bobby Jack Hinson, David Hinson, John Henry Hinson, and Junior Hinson.
