Joe Reece ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Cheatham County Funeral Home - Ashland City on Mar. 8, 2026.Joe Edward Reece, age 88, of Ashland City, Tennessee departed this life on March 7, 2026.He was born in Nashville, Tennessee on March 7, 1938, to James Reece and Lola Mae (Leath) Reece. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Reece, Lola Mae Ruffin (James); brothers, Jerry Reece, Jackie Reece, Jimmy Reece, Johnny Reece and Terry Ruffin; and grandson, Heath Mundy.Early in Joe's life, he was a racecar driver. Later in life he found a love for horses and began barrel racing at Bearwallow Saddle Club and Cheatham County Saddle Club which he enjoyed for many years. Many will remember him from Ashland City Fitness where he attended daily for many years.He leaves behind his loving wife of 68 years, Pamela (Oglesby) Reece; daughters, Bobbie Thomas (Mickey), Tammie Reece, and Sherry Horton (Dan); brothers, Travis Ruffin (Gail), and Ricky Ruffin (Reba); sister, Joann Maddox; grandchildren, Lindsey Woods (Michael), Chad Mundy (Christi), and Adam Thomas (Jessica); and great grandchildren, Dailynn Woods, Rowdy Woods, Grace Thomas, Colton Thomas, Kylie Mundy, Braxton Mundy, Devin Mundy, Laekyn Mundy and Emelyn Mundy. A visitation to celebrate of Joe's life will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026 from 5pm to 8pm at Cheatham County Funeral Home.
