Arlington, TX
Joe Bowers, 82, of Arlington, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2026, after valiantly battling pancreatic cancer.
Born on July 9, 1943, in Wichita Falls, Texas to Andy and Wynell Bowers, Joe rose from humble beginnings through hard work and determination. He sold bibles door-to-door and worked in the Texas A&M University mess hall to put himself through college, graduating in 1965 with a degree in accounting. After several years as an accountant, Joe found his calling in real estate. In 1986 he founded Bowers & Associates, leading the company with energy and drive for four decades.
Joe lived life with enthusiasm. He loved scuba diving, skiing, dancing, fishing, and never missed a chance for laughter or a good board game with his kids. He was active in First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, in Arlington, where he organized youth ski trips, and later joined First United Methodist Church of Arlington. He cherished a handful of lifelong friends whose company meant the world to him.
Joe shared 39 years of marriage with Ginny Bowers, with whom he raised their family and remained a trusted friend. In his last 12 years, he found happiness with his wife, Barbara Saucier, whose companionship filled his later years with warmth and laughter.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Saucier; former wife, Ginny Bowers and their children: Douglas Ridenour and wife, Sara; Kimberly Bowers; Andrew Bowers and wife, Lauren; and Samuel Bowers and wife, Monica; granddaughters, Isabel and Amelia; stepdaughter, Suzanne Vance, husband, Paul, and son, Jacob; stepdaughter, Jennifer Chenault and husband, Larry, and children, Sydney and Ryan; brother, Houston Bowers and wife, Mary, and their four children; and brother, Bill Bowers.
Joe’s big laugh, bold spirit, and love of life left a lasting impression on all who knew him. A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, April 12th at 1:30 pm at the First United Methodist Church of Arlington, 313 N. Center Street, Arlington, Texas 76011.
