Jobo Valentin, 88, of Bloomfield, New Jersey, passed away on March 8, 2026. Born in Moca, Puerto Rico, to Pedro Estremera Valentin and Maria Soto Valentin, he came to the United States in 1955. He settled in Newark, New Jersey, where he raised his family before moving to Bloomfield.

He worked as a draftsman and fabricator with ITT Avionics in Clifton, New Jersey, for many years before retiring in 1995.

Jobo was the beloved husband of 65 years to Blanca (Candelaria) Valentin. He was the devoted father of Rosa Valentin-Ruiz and her husband Edgar Y. Ruiz, Luz M. Valentin, Maria “Margie” Ruiz, Freddie Valentin and his wife Patty Valentin, and Maria D. Reyes and her husband Lee Reyes. He was the loving grandfather of Austin T. Ruiz and his wife Ava Koziak-Ruiz, Brandon V. Ruiz, Ethan J. Ruiz, Kaylee Rose Reyes, and Julian L. Reyes, and the cherished great-grandfather of Frances Rose Marie Ruiz. He was the dear brother of Liborio Valentin, Aurelio Valentin, and Maria “Meri” Rosado, and was predeceased by his brothers Jose, Angel, and Mariano Valentin and his sister Demesia Valentin-Rivera.

Jobo was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who lived with integrity, hard work, kindness, and generosity. He created a home filled with love and taught his family the value of perseverance. A devoted Catholic and faithful servant of the Lord, his legacy of love for his family will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
