Dr. Joanne T. D’Agostino, 87, of Palmer Township, Pennsylvania, passed away on March 10, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on October 25, 1938, in Easton, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Pearl (Tito) Minotti.
A proud graduate of Easton High School, Joanne went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Cedar Crest College, a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Lehigh University, and a Doctorate in Nutrition from LaSalle University. Her distinguished healthcare career spanned more than five decades. She began in nursing and healthcare administration at Easton Hospital before joining her husband’s gastroenterology practice, where she specialized in nutritional counseling. An accomplished author and educator, she wrote books on nutrition, served as a contributing editor for numerous healthcare publications, hosted television programs focused on heart-healthy living, and wrote the “Healthy Heart” column for the Express-Times from 1990 to 2014.
Deeply committed to her community, Joanne served on the boards of many organizations, including Lafayette-Ambassador Bank, Valley Health Foundation of Easton Hospital, ProJeCT of Easton, Two Rivers Health & Wellness Foundation, Easton Area Community Center, Northampton County Medical Society Alliance, the Rotary Club of Easton, and The Weller Center Apple Corp. Her professional achievements and volunteer service earned her numerous awards and recognitions.
Above all, Joanne found her greatest joy in her family. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she was a faithful member of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church. She is survived by her loving husband, Dr. Frank D’Agostino; her daughter, Dr. Erica D’Agostino; her grandchildren, Arianna and Bianca Matos; her sister, Marie Minotti Calandra and her husband, Leo; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
