Joanne Murphy

We bid farewell to Joanne Murphy of Defiance, Ohio, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on March 6, 2026 at the age of 87. Joanne touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. In the vast expanse of eternity, may Joanne find peace everlasting, cradled in the gentle embrace of the universe. And as we stand on the shores of remembrance, may her legacy inspire us to live each day with purpose, passion, and profound gratitude for the gift of life itself.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Loren Manning and Rose Manning (Saxton). She is survived by: her husband James Murphy of Defiance; her children, Bethany Murphy of North Augusta, SC, J. Jeffrey Murphy (Kim Stevens) of Defiance and Patrick Murphy (Sheila) of Lima, OH; and her grandchildren, Meghan and Sean Murphy.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 10th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Lawson-Roessner Chapel (1753 S Clinton St, Defiance, OH 43512). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, March 11th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary Catholic Church (715 Jefferson Ave, Defiance, OH 43512).

Memorials are suggested to St. Mary Food Pantry or CHP Defiance Area Hospice.
