(Martens) Toland. Joanne was a graduate of P.S. DuPont High School with the class of 1953. She made her career for 30 years at Colonial National Bank, and later as a secretary at A.G. Wilson Law Firm until her retirement in 2008. Joanne was a proud 70-year member and past president of Naomi Rebekah Lodge #3.In addition to her parents, Joanne was preceded in death by her husband, George A. Leager. She is survived by her daughter, Sheryl Wilson (Gary); grandchildren, Matthew Wilson (Jill) and Kathryn Mattheu (Stephen); and great-grandchildren, Maire Wilson, Logan Wilson, Lillian Mattheu, and Ruby Mattheu.A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joanne's memory to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Delaware, 1901 Rockland Road, Wilmington, DE 19803 or online by clicking here.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
