Speis, 89, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, March 12, 2026, in Duncannon.Born on August 31, 1936, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Joanne was the beloved daughter of the late Donald L. and Martha M. (Haines) Conway. She lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, and a deep love for serving others. Joanne found great joy in giving back to her community and was always ready to lend a helping hand wherever it was needed.She devoted many hours volunteering with the local Food Bank and at Christ Lutheran Church, where she assisted with donation drives and helped create quilts for those in need. Joanne's compassionate spirit and willingness to serve touched many lives, and her quiet acts of kindness made a lasting difference in her community.In her quieter moments, Joanne found peace and happiness in coloring and artistic expression. These simple, reflective activities brought her comfort and joy, allowing her to enjoy peaceful moments surrounded by creativity.Joanne's greatest pride was her family. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Charles Speis and his wife, Naomi; Kenneth Speis and his wife, Robin; Michael Spies; Tonya Sands and her husband, Brian; Joanne Smith and her husband, Danny; Teresa Linthicum; and Alice Tonkin and her husband, Richard. She is also survived by her sister, Cheryl Gauker; son-in-law, David Stevens; several cherished grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren who will carry forward her legacy of love and generosity.In addition to her parents, Joanne was preceded in death by her sons, Scott Speis and William "Bill" McKee; daughter, Jeanie Stevens; her brothers, Donald Conway and John Farrell; and sister, Doris Conway.Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Joanne on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Christ Lutheran Church in Duncannon, Pennsylvania. A public viewing will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 9:30 a.m. A graveside service will take place immediately following the service at Rolling Green Cemetery in Camp Hill.Joanne will be remembered for her gentle heart, her unwavering generosity, and the love she shared so freely with her family, friends, and community.
