JoAnne Breyfogle

JoAnne Marie Breyfogle, age 74, of Alta, Iowa, died on Saturday, March 14, 2026, in Sioux City, Iowa.

Born on March 7, 1952, in Iowa City, Iowa, to Delbert and JoAnne Breyfogle, she was baptized and confirmed as a child. She graduated from Rembrandt High School and later made her home in the Alta area.

JoAnne was blessed with one son, Jeremy Joe Breyfogle. She found quiet joy in baking, reading, and taking car rides along the lake. A faithful member of Summit Church in Alta, she held family close to her heart and especially treasured the time she spent with her significant other, Jesus Contreras.

She is survived by her son, Jeremy Breyfogle of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; her grandson, Nicholas Waddell of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; her significant other, Jesus Contreras of Alta, Iowa; and many extended family members and friends. JoAnne was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Ernie Breyfogle and Paulete Breyfogle.
