Joanne “Joey” B. Domaika, age 65, of Tomahawk, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family and under the care of Aspirus Hospice.
Born in Milwaukee on Mother’s Day, May 8, 1960, to Anthony and Dorothy (Machgan) Adamczyk, Joey moved with her family to Tomahawk in 1973. She graduated from Tomahawk High School in 1978. On March 31, 2004, she married Ronald Domaika, and the couple shared many happy years together, including winters spent in Tucumcari, New Mexico. For many years she worked as manager at Silverado.
Joey felt a deep connection to the natural world around her. She delighted in the ducks, crows, deer, and rabbits that visited her yard, giving each a name and earning their trust. She tended her flowers and vibrant hanging baskets with care, relaxed by the firepit, and was never one to shy away from hard work, often seen cutting wood or trimming trees with her chainsaw. Blessed with a remarkable photographic memory, she could recall detailed stories of people and places from throughout her life. Creative and artistic, she enjoyed cross stitch, sewing, and filled her home with distinctive southwest décor. She also loved classic country music and could sing along to nearly every song, especially her favorite, “Put Another Log on the Fire.”
She is survived by her husband, Ronald Domaika; stepchildren Randy Domaika, Ronnie Domaika, and Roxanne (Jerry) Klinger; sisters Margie (Roger) Beaumont, Nancy Millard, Donna Greiner, Judy (Jerry) Johnson, and Karen (Tim) Skinner; as well as step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends Denise Myers, Tammy Copiskey, and Tammy Stitely. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Kenneth Adamczyk.
