Joann Pinkston Collins

Joann Pinkston Collins, 81, of Grovetown, Georgia, entered into rest on Monday, March 9, 2026. She was the loving wife of Charles Collins and a devoted mother who cherished her family and her cats. Joann worked for more than twenty years as a food service employee in the lunchrooms of the Richmond County Board of Education. Later in life, she spent ten years traveling the road with her husband, Charles. A woman of deep faith, she loved God and lived her beliefs with quiet strength.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Collins; her daughter, Mitzie Owens (Tommy Stanford); her son, Frank James Owens (Donna); her daughter, Charlene Black (Steven); and her son, Charles Collins, Jr. (Kimberly Crouch). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Brett Collins (Ashley), Christopher Kimmel (Amber), Kevin Kimmel, Dillon Owens (Taylor), and Josh Owens (Kayla); and her great-grandchildren, Leland Owens, Bella Owens, Bristol Patterson, Lindsey Kimmel, Melody Kimmel, Bailey Kimmel, Jadyn Collins, Savannah Collins, and Ally Green.

Her family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Angie Brown for the loving care she provided Joann during the final year of her life. They also extend their thanks to the staffs of Piedmont Hospital and the Doctors Hospital ICU.
