Garden City, MI

With hearts full of love, yet missing a piece that can never be replaced, we celebrate the life of Joann — a devoted partner, loving sister, and a passionate aunt who was truly more like a mom. She was also a proud great-aunt who found immense joy in each and every one of her ten great-nieces and nephews, who completed her world.

As the youngest of three daughters, Joann was spoiled with love, attention, and plenty of gifts. That same generosity and affection were later poured into her four nieces and ten great-nieces and nephews, all of whom she adored beyond measure.

Joann took great pride in her work and was often known as everyone’s “work mom.” She found so much happiness in bringing people together — planning parties, picnics, and any gathering that would make others feel loved, appreciated, and celebrated.

She had an incredible knack for decorating, cooking, baking, and organizing. From baby showers and weddings to graduation parties and every holiday in between, Joann was the go-to person — the guru behind the scenes and the heart of every celebration. Because of her, memories were made, traditions were kept, and laughter and love filled every room.

Joann’s world felt complete when she was surrounded by family. She loved being the one who could fix a problem, offer advice, or wipe away tears with a smile, her quick wit, and her wonderfully no-nonsense way of doing things.

Here to celebrate her life and carry on her legacy of love are her partner, Jim; her sisters, Linda (Jerry) and Janice (Clark); her nieces, Shelly (Ryan), Dina (Mike), Tara (Maya), and Leanne (Jay); and last, but certainly not least, her greatest pride and joy — Brynlee, Ava, Carter, Dylan, Annalee, Max, Evan, Carson, Noah, and Nathan.

Joann leaves behind a legacy of love, determination, generosity, and joy. While we are not sure how we will move forward without her, we know her spirit lives on in the family she adored and in the countless lives she touched
