JoAnn Falk Allison Buterbaugh
Rich Hill, MO
JoAnn Falk Allison Buterbaugh, born in Kansas City, Kansas, on October 23, 1934, passed away on March 8, 2026. Throughout her long and blessed life, she embraced many roles with grace and devotion—as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, Sunday School teacher, school room mother for multiple classes over many years, artist, baker and cake decorator, seamstress, gardener, and canner.
After the death of her first husband, Vern Allison, the father of her six children, JoAnn pursued her dream of becoming a nurse. While caring for patients, she met Richard Buterbaugh, whom she later married, happily taking on the life of a dairy farmer’s wife. In 2016, she found renewed purpose when she became a faithful servant in establishing The Carpenter’s Cup, a ministry close to her heart.
JoAnn is survived by her stepdaughter, Shirley Bird; three daughters, Phyllis Boren, Becky Clift, and Barb Brooks (Frank); two sons, Mark Allison (Angela) and Matt Allison (Red); 21 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vern Allison, and her oldest son, Paul Allison.
