JoAnn (Wertz) Alexander

JoAnn (Wertz) Alexander, 78, of Ephrata, PA, passed away on March 16, 2026.

JoAnn was born on March 1, 1948, in Lancaster, PA. She was the daughter of late John and Dorothy (Bleacher) Wertz. JoAnn is survived by her husband Barry Alexander, Ephrata and her two daughters Karen Rettew, married to Deron of Ephrata, and Jody Kauffman married to Brian of Dover, and her 4 grandchildren: Nathan McGinnis, Ephrata; Brianna Ecenrode, Lititz; Weston and Paige Kauffman of Dover; her sister Dorothy Baker of Lancaster; along with several nieces and nephews.

JoAnn retired from Women & Babies Hospital and was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Lancaster, PA. She was involved with the community and several book clubs.

A memorial service will be held at 8 PM on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. The family will receive guests beginning at 6 PM. Interment will be private.
