Joan Adams ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Dykstra Funeral Homes Downtown Holland Chapel on Mar. 9, 2026.Joan Marie Adams, 67, of Plainwell, Michigan, died peacefully in her home in Holland, Michigan, on Monday morning, March 1st, 2026.Born in Plainwell, Michigan, on September 28th, 1958, to Lois and Robert Murphy, Joan attended school and was raised in Plainwell alongside her brother John Murphy. She met her husband Donald Adams and raised her family in Plainwell and lived in the Plainwell/Otsego area for most of her life. Joan enjoyed spending time with her family and had hobbies such as card games and puzzles as well as canvassing with yarn and making trinkets for others. She enjoyed a career in hospitality before becoming disabled in her middle years. Joan loved baseball and watching or listening to Tiger's games and enjoyed the Detroit Lions as well.Joan was the last surviving member of the Murphy family and closes a chapter in the family book of life.Survivors include her husband Donald Adams, a son Curtis Adams and wife Amber Clason-Adams, a daughter Celeste Cousineau, as well as 8 grandchildren.A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 14th, at New Richmond Baptist Church, 1909 Transport Lane, Holland, Michigan 49423, at 2:00 p.m. All are welcome to come celebrate Joan's life and give condolences to family.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
