Joan Marie Adams

Joan Marie Adams, 67, of Plainwell, Michigan, died peacefully in her home in Holland, Michigan, on Monday morning, March 1, 2026.

Born in Plainwell on September 28, 1958, to Lois and Robert Murphy, Joan was raised there alongside her brother John Murphy. She met and married Donald Adams, and together they raised their family in the Plainwell and Otsego area, where she spent most of her life. Joan found great joy in time spent with her family. She loved playing card games and working on puzzles, and she took special pleasure in canvassing with yarn to create trinkets for those she cared about. She had a long career in hospitality before becoming disabled in her middle years. A devoted sports fan, she followed the Detroit Tigers and the Detroit Lions with enthusiasm.

Joan was the last surviving member of the Murphy family. She is survived by her husband, Donald Adams; her son, Curtis Adams, and his wife, Amber Clason-Adams; her daughter, Celeste Cousineau; and eight grandchildren.
