Joan M. Schiavello
October 13, 1943— March 10, 2026
Poland, OH
Joan M. Schiavello, 82, of Poland, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on March 10, 2026, at Masternick Memorial in New Middletown, Ohio.
Born on October 13, 1943, in Youngstown, Ohio, Joan was the daughter of Stephen K. and Margaret (Kamensky) Klucher. A proud 1961 graduate of Lowellville High School, she married her high school sweetheart, Charles “Chuck” Schiavello, and together they shared 60 years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and cherished family traditions. While devoting herself first and foremost to her family as a homemaker, Joan also worked for many years as a Service Manager at Sears.
A devout Catholic and longtime member of Our Lady of Holy Rosary Catholic Parish in Lowellville, Joan faithfully served her church community. She volunteered in the parish office, participated in the prayer group, prayed the Rosary daily with her husband, and served as a trustee for The Ladies of Mount Carmel Society. Family was her greatest joy. She loved hosting holidays and gatherings, creating lasting memories with her grandchildren through Disney trips, weekend visits, weekly phone calls, and ice cream treats. Joan also enjoyed time with friends, card club, and Rummikub game nights with family. She had a creative spirit and lovingly crocheted baby blankets that became treasured gifts. She held a special place in her heart for her beloved cocker spaniels Buffy I and Buffy II, Maddie, Mia, Molly, and her most recent companion, Joan Jett.
Joan is survived by her beloved husband, Chuck Schiavello; her children, Cynthia Schiavello of Eugene, Oregon, and Charles (Elizabeth) Schiavello of Avon Lake, Ohio; her grandchildren, Zachary Schiavello (Katherine Hess), Nicholas Schiavello, Ellis Schwarz, Jack Schiavello, and Lucia Schwarz; her cherished Aunt Irene “Bubba” Hrusovsky; her niece Lisa Thompson; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and special cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Stephen and Margaret Klucher, and her brother, Kenneth Klucher.
