Joan M. O'Shaughnessy1943 - 2026East LongmeadowJoan (Zucco) O'Shaughnessy of East Longmeadow, MA and The Villages, FL passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026. She was born on February 28, 1943, in Springfield MA to Isabel (Reid) and James Zucco. She graduated from Holyoke Community College and Westfield State University with degrees in nursing. She worked for many years as a dedicated nurse at Baystate Medical Center, ending her career as Director of Renal and Transplant Services.She was predeceased by her husband Jerry O'Shaughnessy. She leaves her sister Patricia Oravets and husband Al of Moreno Valley, CA.She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, she leaves behind her son Joseph Guarnera, her daughter Jenifer (Guarnera) Minardi and her husband Jeffrey of Longmeadow, MA and her daughter Julie Guarnera-Wahl and her husband Bruce of Randolph, MA. She leaves behind several grandchildren and great grandchildren.Joan was an avid dog lover, especially her beloved Bella. She was one of the original organizers of the East Longmeadow Dog Park.A celebration of Joan's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations could be sent to Dakin Humane Society or the local animal shelter of your choice in Joan's name.
