Joan Lipscomb ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Cunningham & Associates Funeral Services, LLC on Mar. 6, 2026.Ms. Joan Lipscomb, age eighty-six, departed her earthly life and entered into eternal rest early Friday morning, March 6, 2026 at the Carver Rehabilitation and Living Center in Durham, North Carolina. She was born in Person County April 22, 1939 to the late Frank and Clara Johnson and was a member of New Mount Zion Baptist Church.In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, David Johnson.She leaves to cherish her precious memories, two daughters: Barbara Lyons and Marilyn Lipscomb, both of Durham, North Carolina; two grandchildren: Ashley Lyons of Durham and Mary Lyons of Boone, North Carolina; siblings: Patrecia Lawton, Clara George (William), Dorothy Wagstaff, John Bennie Johnson, Christopher Johnson (Gail) and Ronald Johnson (Jeffrey); and a host of other loving relatives and friends.The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 12:00pm at New Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 305 Walker Street in Roxboro 27573, with the Reverend P. Louis Evans, M.Div., Pastor, providing the eulogy.
