Joan E. KUHN

Joan E. Kuhn, 85, of Whitesville, NY, died Thursday, March 12, 2026, in UR Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville.

Born July 2, 1940, in Wellsville, she was the daughter of Orval and Helen Smith Chambers. On March 30, 1963, in Whitesville, she married Aaron L. Kuhn, who predeceased her on November 15, 2023. A graduate of Whitesville High School, Joan worked at the Modern Diner in Wellsville, for the NY Telephone Co., at Mapes Woodworking in Genesee, and at Herbert Cooper Co. in Genesee. She was an active member of the Genesee Volunteer Fire Department and Auxiliary, the Robert E. James American Legion Auxiliary, and served as a scout leader in Whitesville.

She is survived by her three children, Jennifer Foth of Virginia Beach, VA, Deborah (Stephen) Murray of Friendship, and John (Teresa) Kuhn of Whitesville; six grandchildren, Peter (Jaime) Foth, Donald (Amanda) McNeely, Brandi (Tom “Frank” Smith) Murray, Matthew (Hannah) Ford, Aaron John (Madge “Megan”) Kuhn, and Sara (Logan) Lowe; ten great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her stepmother, Mary Chambers; two brothers, Robert Chambers and James Chambers; and a sister, Avis Ransom.
