Joan (Seneca) Boyer

Assonet, MA

Joan (Seneca) Boyer, 88, of Assonet, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born on August 1, 1937, in Fall River, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late James E. Seneca and Alice (St. Michel) Seneca.

Joan will be remembered for her vibrant personality, sharp sense of humor, and remarkable ability to enjoy life to the fullest. Adventurous and spirited, she was often the center of attention at every gathering. She cherished eating out at restaurants, participating in the community life at Christian Life Church, hosting friends and family, savoring a large Dunkin’ Donuts coffee, watching horror movies, and rooting for the Patriots.

Deeply compassionate, Joan dedicated more than thirty years of service to the Registration Department at Charlton Memorial Hospital, caring for others throughout her career. Above all, she treasured her family and friends. She shared over fifty years with her late husband, Edward R. Boyer, and remained inseparable from her sister, Dorothy J. Clarke, as they explored the world together.

Joan was the loving, loyal, and supportive mother of Edward K. Boyer and the late James J. Boyer and Brittney Boyer. She was the proud and devoted grandmother of Seneca Edward Boyer, Talia Lee Boyer Goncalves, and Jimmy Fitzpatrick. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, Tiago, Filipe, Brycen, and Bryar, who brought her immense joy.
