Joan Ann Guerriere, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, at the age of 83.
Born on September 19, 1942, in Brooklyn, New York, Joan lived a life defined by devotion to her family, quiet strength, and kindness toward others. She faced life’s joys and hardships with resilience and grace, always placing the people she loved at the center of her world.
She is survived by her three loving children, Dr. Jo-Anne Guerriere (Michael Oswald), Thomas V. Guerriere, Jr. (Lisa), and John E. Guerriere (Murrell Timmons); her cherished grandchildren, Christopher Oswald, Julianne Oswald, and Justin Oswald (children of Jo-Anne), Alexandra Guerriere, John Guerriere, and Jenna Guerriere (children of Thomas), Roland Guerriere and Conrad Guerriere (children of John), and Sean Heflin (son of her late daughter, Jenine); and her great-granddaughter, Charlotte (daughter of Alexandra), who brought her immeasurable pride and happiness. Joan also leaves behind her beloved best friends Kathy and Helenmary, as well as her niece, nephew, cousins, and granddogs Luna, Stella, Sadie, and Darwin.
Those who knew Joan will remember her for her warmth, caring spirit, and the deep love she held for her family. Her presence will be profoundly missed but lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Evelyn Gully; her husband and the father of her children, Thomas V. Guerriere, Sr.; and her daughter, Jenine Marie Guerriere, whose memory remained forever close to her heart.
